FAMILY SPEAKS OUT AFTER PRECINCT 1 CONSTABLE BEATING

[HOUSTON, TX]On Friday September 1, 2023 at 11am at 12703 Landon Light Ln Houston, TX 77038 the Family of Neri will speak out about the excessive use of force that was used to subdue this family man even though he recently had a broken arm. FIEL Spokespeople will accompany the family.

Constable From Precinct 1 Had been showing up at this address due to an ongoing neighbor dispute. The next door neighbor had seeked out Mr Neri to say that he couldn’t park on his side of the public street and this is where all the issues are stemming from. He had further harassed about other petty issues and had called constables from precinct 1 to the location multiple times. on the second to last time Constables from Precinct 1 showed up with a tow truck under the report that Mr. Neri had been running a chop shop which is not true. Mr. Neri tol constable one the true nature of his work and after the police left went to confront his neighbor about the lies. His neighbor then called constable 1 patrol again and they came out to arrest Mr Neri. Without warning they begin to push him to the ground and used a taser to subdue the already injured Neri. You can see in the video family letting the officers know that he doesn’t understand English and all they do is laugh at the situation.

"Mr Neri’s family and we demand full transparency as to what happened the date of this incident. We demand full accountability. We also need the release of the body worn cameras and any camera that was in use that day that can shed more light on the events that unfolded. We find it unfathomable that even though a Spanish speaking police officer was on the scene he refused to give commands in Spanish to help subdue the already injured subject. We want clear answers from precinct 1 so that this does not happen again. We also demand a full investigation and that these officers be reprimanded for their behavior. "- Cesar Espinosa FIEL Executive Director.
