STATEMENT ON DACA DECISION BY JUDGE HANEN
[HOUSTON, TX]On September 13, 2023 at 7:00pm over zoom FIEL staff and legal experts will be on Zoom to talk about the latest decision on the DACA program.
"It is unfathomable that Judge Hanen has once again declared DACA unconstitutional. We are once again reminded that the DACA program is a temporary solution and must be rectified before it is too late. We must have congress and President Biden Act NOW to take these DREAMers out of limbo. The program is not all lost at the moment. Judge Hanen left the program intact for current recipients but once again freezes first time applicants. We now must head to the 5th circuit where we believe the program will have the same fate and it will ultimately end up at the supreme court. " -Cesar Espinosa FIEL Executive Director
