FIEL STATEMENT ON SUPREME COURT EXTENDING INJUNCTION ON SB4

[HOUSTON, TX] On Tuesday March 12 Justice Alito Extended the temporary stay on SB4 one more week. After Texas filed an appeal. The 5th circuit court of Appeals is set to listen to oral arguments on April 13, 2024 FIEL spokespeople are available for comment

“We are riding a roller coaster of sorts in legal terms when it comes to SB4. Things are changing almost on a day to day basis. We want to caution people to not take this as a wine but rather a reprise when it comes to SB4. There is still much to be discussed and seen when it comes to this legal process which is happening at lightning speeds. We encourage people to remain vigilant and to continue to prepare for the worst case scenario should this law take effect. We hope that justice will prevail and will be declared as we believe it to be unconstitutional. " – Cesar Espinosa FIEL Executive Director
