JUDGE RULES AGAINST PIP PROGRAM
[HOUSTON, TX] On Thursday November 7 2024 Judge Baker has ruled that the Parole in Place (PIP) Program is illegal. FIEL Releases the following statement:
“This week has dealt a series of Davis dating blows to our community. First because of the outcome of the election in an election that was filled with anti-immigrant rhetoric and now with this judge declaring the parole in place order illegal. Our hope is that the department of Homeland security will appeal this case and we will take this up to the courts to make sure that in the end of the day justice is served. For the meantime we hope that our families continue to prepare themselves and to inform themselves for whatever may come. We will continue to host workshops and uplift our community to make sure that they have the tools that they need to face the hard times ahead. " – Cesar Espinosa FIEL Executive Director
