Detained While Documented.
[HOUSTON, TX] On Thursday March 6, 2025 at 11:00am at FIEL Headquarters (4635 Southwest Freeway #220 Houston, TX 77027) affected community members and FIEL spokespeople will gather to explain the current situation our community is living.
“Alot of the people that we serve in the Houston Area have work permits under a variety of programs including, but not limited to, DACA. We have advised our community to carry these documents with them to avoid getting picked up by immigration. Unfortunately, even though people have been carrying their documents, many of them still have been detained. These cases prove to us that simple human error could potentially land people in deportation proceedings. We worry that as operations increase then so will these situations.
