EMMANUEL GONZALEZ GOES TO CITY HALL
[HOUSTON, TX] On Tuesday December 2 at 1:30pm at City Hall (901 Bagby Houston, TX 77002 on the south steps) FIEL spokespeople, Maria Garcia and Emmanuel Gonzalez will gather to bring their voice to city council. We will present a thank you card to Mayor Whitemire.
On Saturday October 4 at approximately 3 PM Emmanuel was at the corner of Clay and Hempstead Rd selling fruit with his mom MAria. Emmanuel asked to go to the restroom, but unfortunately, Ms Maria was busy tending to a customer. A few minutes later, Maria turned back around in the last direction where she had seen Emanuel. He was nowhere to be seen. Upon a frantic search, Maria called HPD.
“After 50 days in Federal Detention Emmanuel was released back to hig rightful place with his mother. This was after Emmanuel was erroneously turned over to ORR by HPD. Neither Chief Diaz or Mayor Whitmire lifted a finger to right this wrong. In fact they went as far as to curtail the situation saying that Emmanuel told them he was homeless. During council session they will have the opportunity to question Emmanuel and let him and our community know why they acted they callous way they did, .”- Cesar Espinosa Executive Director FIEL
