AMID THE STORM GOOD NEWS COMES

San Antonio Federal Judge Orlando Garcia has rules a majority of SB 4 provisions, including the one that forces local police departments to inquire about immigration status, have been block and rules as unconstitutional. Law enforcement officers will not be punished in not inquiring immigration status. We know the defendants of this case might look to counter this legal but for now, the battle makes it way to the 5th Circuit Court, in Louisiana.

"Amid all the bad news this week and amid the storm which we just went through the injunction against SB4 is a sign of relief for the member of the undocumented community in the State of Texas. Many immigrants were worried about the effects of the storm during these times but at the same time an internal storm was brewing with them being worried about their status. We hope to open a space tonight to be able to provide people with information as well as to provide a space for folks to be be able to know how they can assist in recovery efforts around the City of Houston " Cesar Espinosa Executive Director, FIEL Houston.
