UNDOCUMENTED HARVEY VICTIMS
FUNDRAISER BY HOUSTON LATINO BUSINESS COMMUNITY
Unidos Houston is a collaborative of Latino business community members who have stepped up to support the undocumented community that is supporting Houston’s recovery.
On Saturday, September 23, 2017 a fundraising bar-b-que supporting the undocumented community of the greater Houston area will be held by prominent members of the Latino business community.
Undocumented residents of Houston are not directly eligible for FEMA assistance yet will be one of the cornerstones of our recovery efforts. The men and women who rebuild our homes, roads, and city face unique challenges after Hurricane Harvey savaged the greater Houston area. Unidos Houston will be raising funds to support these undocumented families in need of assistance.
“Houston depends on these families to make our city run day-to-day and we will not be able to rebuild without them,” said attorney Juan Guerra. “We are rallying our community and supporting those that support all of us in this time of great need.”
The fundraiser will serve $10 bar-b-que plates and accept sponsorships to reach a goal of $10,000 which will be donated to 501 C3, F.I.E.L who is the leading non-profit advocate for the Latino community. F.I.E.L will distribute the donations to affected undocumented communities, focusing on apartments communities. Unidos Houston leadership will be available for comment from noon-2pm.
