DACA PROGRAM COULD END ON AUGUST 8
DACA recipients are encouraged to renew

[Houston, TX] On Wednesday August 1, 2018 at at 11:00 am at FIEL Headquarters (6610 Harwin #214 Houston, TX 77036) at the FIEL Legal team and FIEL representatives will discuss the possible scenarios for the DACA program after the August 8th federal hearing.

After President Trump cancelled the DACA program in September of 2017 there have been many legal challenges to the decision. On August 8th the DACA Case will go to a federal court in TX where judge Hanen will decided the faith of the program. If removed the program would leave 689,000 immigrant youth without an protection.

"We are anxious to know what the future may hold for the immigrant community as a whole but are gravely concerned as to what might happen to this particular population of people who have joined the work force have bought cars and home etc. We will continue to fight until we gain a permanent solution for the DREAMERS and their families. We encourage all DACA recipients to renew their protection at their discretion. " – Cesar Espinosa Executive Director FIEL
