9th CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS UPHOLDS DACA
[Houston, TX] On Thursday November 8, 2018 the 9th Circuit Court appeals ratified the stance that President Trump cannot repeal the DACA Program. FIEL Spokespeople are available for comment.

"We are content that once again the courts have ratified that President Trump cannot unilaterally end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. We understand though that this may slow down or speed up the timeline for when the supreme court takes this case. It is upsetting that DREAMers have to face this uncertainty without a tangible path for a permanent solution to their situation. Our hope is that this decisions slows down the administrations plan to dismantle DACA and offers us a window of time to push forward DREAMer legislation. We hope that the change in congress also opens up room for meaningful dialogue and a willingness to resolve this issue once and for all. " – Cesar Espinosa Executive Director FIEL
