Zoom Press Conference to react to Gov Abbott’s Deplorable statement on Immigrant Children

[HOUSTON, TX] On Thursday May 5th at 1:45 pm CST over Zoom FIEL Executive Director will provide comment on the announcement that Governor Abbott made in regards to withholding funds from School Districts who educate undocumented children.

"What a world we live in. The State of Texas is definitely in retrograde with this governor inching us backward in History. In 1982 the Supreme court determined that all children should be viewed equally under the law in the Case Plyer V Doe. The damage will start to be done right now as uncertainty begins to expand towards and uncertain future. We want our kids to get a fair equal education since education is a human right. How will this hurt the children? how will this hurt the community? how will this hurt the state? Time and time again we see governor Abbott using very delicate issues for his own political gain.
