HOUSTON JOINS IN CELEBRATING THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF DACA
[HOUSTON, TX]On Wednesday June 15, 2022 at 11:30 am at FIEL Headquarters (6610 Harwin #214 Houston, TX 77036) Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner, County Commissioner Adrian Garcia, Elected Officials, DREAMers and FIEL Spokespeople will gather to speak on the positive impact DACA has had over the last 10 years.
"Time sure does fly. in 2012 on the morning of June 15th My life and the lives of 800,000 undocumented youth took an unexpected but welcomed turn. Many of us DACA recipients were able to get drivers licenses continue our education and continue to grow with out families. Fortunately we are here 10 years and the DACA program continues to thrive. Unfortunately the program also continues to be under scrutiny by the evil hearted Attorney General of Texas Ken Paxton. We want to remind him and the country that immigrants our essential and we have continued to serve the nation in a variety of capacities from farm workers to doctors to teachers.Truth be told, we are tired of having to prove ourselves and we are also exhausted of pleading for protections for our families. Moving forward we would like for congress to finally take action and provide a common sense solution to our broken immigration system. We are ready to reach across party lines; we just need them to be ready to listen. " – Cesar Espinosa FIEL Executive Director
