WHAT TRANSPARENCY FROM HPD?
[HOUSTON, TX] The following statement is a response to the "HPD PUBLIC SAFETY MEETING" where HPD was absent. FIEL members and staff are available for comment.
"Today our community was incredibly disrespected by the city of Houston hosting an HPD immigration report hearing WITHOUT having HPD Present. HPD had an opportunity to mend community police relations and they missed the mark. How does this support community transparency? How does this support community trust? THE CITY OF HOUSTON cannot continue to hide during a lawsuit that they perpetuated. Our community deserves answers; our community deserves respect.
