TERMINATION OF TPS FOR SALVADORIANS
Another Blow to the Immigrant Community
[Houston, TX] On MONDAY January 8, 2017 the Trump Administration announced it’s plans to end TPS for Salvadorian Nationals. FIEL spokespeople are available for comment.
The termination of this program comes at a time where crime is at an all time high in Central America. over 2000,000 Salvadorians who have lived here for more that 17 years will be left without protection. At this time it is unknown what their future will be or if there will be any plans to provide another legal path for them and their families.
" We are deeply saddened that the trump administration has decided to uproot over 200,000 who have live here for almost two decades and are contributors to our society. This populations has made a home here in the US and to expel them now is inhumane." -Cesar Espinosa Executive Director FIEL.
