FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PENDING GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN
[HOUSTON, TX] On January 19th, 2018 at 7:00pm at Market Square Park (301 Milam St, Houston, TX 77002) DREAMERS Community Leaders and FIEL Members will march to maintain the pressure on the government to pass the DREAM Act.
WE are not advocating for a government shutdown we are are only asking for permanent solutions for DREAMERS TPS HOLDERS and their families.
On September 5th, 2017. The Trump administration ended the DACA program, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which offered protection from deportation to Dreamers. The announcement, which was made by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, received outcry from those affected and those sympathetic to this group of undocumented immigrants.
" WE urge the dreamer community to stay engaged and to continue to push for legislation for themselves and their families. We believe the time is not to solve the DREAMer issue and to come to a bipartisan solution to our broken immigration system. We hope that a government shutdown does not occur because it will affect many familie but we would hope that congress would work in a bi partisan manner to fix the issues affecting our country." – Cesar Espinosa Executive Director FIEL
