FIEL CONDEMNS TRUMPS PROPOSED EXECUTIVE ORDER ON BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP
[Houston, TX] On Monday October 29, 20018 President Trump commented that he would announce an executive order regarding birthright citizenship and the 14th Amendment. FIEL Spokespeople are available for comment.

"We adamantly condemn President Trump’s statement on attacking birthright citizenship. For many decades the constitution has been respected and this hasn’t been a pressing issue. It is truly a shame that President Trump has once again launched an attack against the immigrant community by trying to instill fear. It is a shame that he is also using this very touchy issue to galvanize his base right before the midterm elections. We know that civil rights organizations will sue based on the constitutionality of this and we hope that at the end of this debacle the constitution will prevail.
