FEDERAL JUDGE ORDERS A HALT TO THE DEPORTATION OF KEY WITNESES
[HOUSTON, TX] On Tuesday, July 21 2026 a federal judge issued an order that Key witnesses in the Lorenzo Salgado Araujo case cannot be deported. READ ARTICLE HERE In response, FIEL released the following statement
" A fair and transparent process must be protected in the murder of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. This is a step in the right direction of many things that need to happen in order for the family and Mr Lorenzo to get the Justice they deserve. For the last two weeks, we had heard from various sources that the Men who accompanied Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in his last moments were being coerced into self-deporting. This deeply troubled us since we know they are the key witnesses in deciphering what happened during that fateful Tuesday Morning. We must not let our guard down. The community must keep pressing for all agencies to do the right thing and get to those who are responsible for murdering Lorenzo Salgado Araujo." -Cesar Espinosa FIEL Houston
